Essential Services Inspections and Sales

ESM Inspections

Dandenong Fire Equipment Maintenance (DFEM) conducts essential services inspections throughout the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  We also offer other industry services such as training, evacuation plans and diagrams
and a variety of fire safety products.

Site fixtures such as fire extinguishers, exit signs, exit doors, alarm panels and fire hose reels all require regular maintenance and inspection under the National Construction Code (formerly Building Code of Australia).  Most maintenance has requirements set out in an Australian Standard, while others are defined in the code itself.

Servicing your equipment

Occupant safety is everyone’s priority, but essential services inspections and maintenance is also a requirement of the National Construction Code.
It must be done:

  • Periodically as prescribed by Australian Standards
  • When no standard applies, as set out in the NCC
  • By accredited personnel
  • To cover your insurance requirements
